What's the role?

As a Global Solution Architect, you are owning parts of the Hilti’s cloud platform (Hilti Cloud), that provides common services and gateways to core backend systems to customer facing applications. You are driving the functional and technical design of our microservices (RESTful and event based) and together with other cloud architects develop the future architecture of our cloud application stack. You are also working together with the engineering team to ensure the fulfilment of the architecture and security principles.

What does the role involve?

As a Global Solution Architect, you will be part of a team of architects, engineers, designers, and business counterparts, which are located all over the world. Your first-and-foremost responsibility is to design together with other architects the future of our cloud implementation by applying architecture principles and patterns. With this you push our strategy to become a cloud native company even further. It is your job to find the right balance between innovation, technical feasibility, long-term sustainability, agile delivery and cost-effective end-to-end implementation. Regularly, you will guide other architects, subject matter experts, and external partners based on your methodical thinking and ability to structure complex questions.

What you need is:

  • Excellent academic results, bachelor degree in IT (CGPA > 3.0 or similar grading is a must, and master degree or PhD is an advantage.
  • Strong conceptional and analytical skills.
  • Fluent in English, multi-lingual preferred.
  • Ability to adaptively communicate with engineers, other architects as well as management.
  • Proven multiyear experience in common technologies use to develop cloud native microservices.
  • Proven track record in at least one of the following areas: Cloud Native Software Development, Microservices, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Event driven integration.
  • Proven working experience with software design/ architecture patterns (particularly cloud native applications, cloud integration patterns and microservices; integration based on an event-driven architecture is a plus).
  • Good understanding of integration technologies to connect to SAP backend (e.g. SAP PI or SCP).
  • Experience with common architectural patterns (e.g. API design standards, patterns and best-practices especially Swagger/OpenAPI, JSON, Microservices etc.).
  • Experience in Continuous Development and Deployment methods are an added advantage.
  • Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to embrace new ideas, technologies and methodologies.
