What's the role?

As a Scrum master you will be the enabler to apply and further strengthen our agile working methodology for the team and build up the next generation of our CRM platform. You will work with teams to properly apply the scrum framework, through demonstrating deep understanding of scrum values, practices, and agile principles for the purpose of creating high performing teams. You will effectively lead multiple teams along their agile journey while maintaining focus on business objectives which deliver high customer value. You will join in one of our strategic IT location in PJ, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and work closely with headquarters (Liechtenstein) and the other locations of Hilti .

You will support your team of developers, Business Analyst, architects and QAs, remove barriers to successfully deliver features and keep your team focused on their committed scope. In addition, you will be in close collaboration with your Product Owner to maximize productivity in line with other scrum teams to manage dependencies. Maintaining the team’s backlog, publish reports to ensure the product owner is updated about the team’s progress and align the changes with the DevOps team.

• The global team is staffed by over 150 internal and external team members across multiple countries like Switzerland, America, France, Malaysia and the US
• We have a multi-scrum setup of 13 teams running in full-agile mode covering topics such as product development, platform governance and global rollouts
• Scrum teams are staffed with both IT and Business colleagues, creating a seamless and synergistic team dynamic

What does the role involve?

As a Scrum Master, you will on the following responsibilities:
• Be the scrum master for 1 to 2 teams across organization
• Build team cohesion through collaboration and effective communication
• Along with the Product Owner, develop and maintain a product and software vision in alignment with business objectives. Communicate vision with clarity throughout the organization
• Coach the team members in self-management and cross-functional teams’ collaboration
• Help the scrum team to focus on creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done
• Ensure that all scrum events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox
• Define techniques for effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management
• Help the scrum team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog item
• Lead, train, and coach the organization in its scrum adoption
• Remove barriers between stakeholders and scrum team

What you need is:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree or PhD in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent education
  • 3+ years of Scrum Master experience, and minimum 10 years of experience in IT related/relevant field
  • Advanced Scrum certification (A-CSM, SASM, CSP) preferred
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and can coordinate well with stakeholders, able to work with widely diverse personalities
  • Solid experience in all stages of IT Product Development Lifecycle, with strong competence in agile methodology
  • Skilled in project and resource prioritization, product and technology road mapping, project management, team member development and coaching, people change management, agile software development, strong customer focus
  • Demonstrate strong initiative, drive, and ability to balance tasks simultaneously
  • Result oriented, dedicated and can work on own initiative whilst also delivering on time with a high level of integrity, sense of urgency, attention to detail and quality standards
  • Driven towards continuous improvement, self-motivated, able to learn quickly, able to multi-task, able to assist teams to meet sprint commitments, and has a fanatical work ethic
  • Demonstrated excellence of interpersonal skills with the ability to work with widely diverse personalities
  • Experience to lead, train and coach teams in scrum adoption
  • Assertive, able to encourage and influence adherence to Agile Scrum concepts and practices.
